Coach Amol Muzumdar Outlines Goal for Indian Women's Cricket Dominance

Head coach Amol Muzumdar has expressed his desire for the Indian women's cricket team to establish long-term dominance in the sport. Since taking over the role in October 2023, Muzumdar has focused on fostering a culture of discipline and consistent performance.

The team reached a major milestone on November 2, 2025, by defeating South Africa in the World Cup final. This victory followed a historic semi-final performance where the squad successfully chased 339 runs against Australia.

Muzumdar believes the current talent pool, bolstered by young players, provides the necessary foundation to maintain high standards. He encourages the squad to remain focused and aggressive regardless of the opponent or the specific format of the game.

Following a successful series against Zimbabwe, the team is preparing for a multi-format tour of South Africa in December. This upcoming series will include a Test match, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
