Anjum Chopra hails Grace Harris as top bargain in WPL auction

Former India captain Anjum Chopra said UP Warriorz secured Australian all‑rounder Grace Harris for a modest Rs 30 lakh, calling it an "absolute steal" in the 2027 WPL auction. Harris, who had earned Rs 75 lakh each season in the league’s first four editions, returned to the franchise after a year with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Chopra noted that Harris’s dual batting and bowling abilities make her a valuable addition despite the low price, and cited her career tally of 818 runs in 31 matches at a strike rate of 149.54, along with 15 wickets, as evidence of her impact.

UP Warriorz also spent Rs 1.10 crore on Australian all‑rounder Sophie Molineux and added several other players, bringing their total spend to Rs 2.60 crore from a Rs 3.75 crore purse. The team hopes the new roster will reverse a four‑year decline that saw them finish bottom of the table in 2025 and 2026.
