This page explains how NRI Bytes decides what to publish, how its stories are written, and what you can expect from us when something is wrong.
What we publish
We focus on news that matters to Indians in America, Canada and India: immigration and visas, work and layoffs, money, education, health, community and culture, sport and entertainment, and the big national stories that touch all of them. To keep each section readable, we limit how many stories we write in each one every day and favour the ones many news organisations are covering.
Where the facts come from
Our stories are built from reporting that news organisations make publicly available. We do not send our own reporters and we do not claim to break news. Every story names the organisations it draws on, with a link to each report, so you can check the original. We do not copy their articles: each story is written fresh in our own words, as a summary. Before a story is published, our system compares it with the reporting it was written from; if it repeats too many of the same phrases, it is rewritten or held back as a short brief with a link to the original.
How AI is used
AI writes our stories, summaries and translations from the credited reporting. AI can make mistakes, such as getting a name, number or date wrong, or losing a nuance, and translations may not be perfect. Stories are for general information and are not legal, immigration, financial or medical advice. For anything that affects your status, money or health, check an official source or ask a qualified professional.
Pictures
A story's picture comes from the reporting it is based on or is a plain illustration. We do not use a picture that is only a news outlet's stock logo or placeholder. Each story's picture is credited to the outlet it came from, with a link. If a picture is yours and you want it removed, tell us (see Report content) and we will take it down promptly.
Corrections
If you see an error, email contact@nribytes.com with the link to the story and what is wrong. We check it against the original reporting and fix or remove the story. Stories that change as events develop show when they were last updated.
Advertising and listings
Advertising never decides what we write. Paid ads are labelled “Sponsored”, and ads from Google are labelled “Advertisement”. Listings that people submit to Near you are free and are reviewed before they appear; jobs are posted by employers, who are responsible for what they say. Read more in our terms and privacy policy.
