The Hasanamba Temple, which opens its doors to devotees only once a year, will begin its annual festival on Thursday, drawing large crowds from within the state and from outside.
On the opening day, the temple will not be open to the general public. Devotee entry will begin from Friday, with the festival scheduled to run until November 11, when the temple will once again close its doors.
Authorities have designated a special daily window, between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., for VIP visitors following protocol. Such dignitaries have been asked to arrive at the Inspection Bungalow half an hour ahead of their visit, from where they will be transported to the temple in a designated vehicle.
The district administration has made extensive arrangements for the event. Excise Minister K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, who also serves as the district in-charge minister, has conducted multiple meetings with officials to review preparations.
Deputy Commissioner K.S. Latha Kumari and Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita, along with other officials, are overseeing the arrangements for the festival.
Why It Matters
The Hasanamba festival draws devotees from across the state and beyond, reflecting the continued significance of regional Hindu temple traditions that resonate with diaspora communities maintaining cultural and religious ties to their home regions in India.
